16^th International Colloquium Tribology “Lubricants, Materials and Lubrication Engineering” hold on January 15-17, 2008 in Stuttgart/Ostfildern, Germany. Since years the Colloquium is organized by Prof. Wilfried J. Bartz (www.tribo-lubri.de) and takes place at Technical Academy Esslingen.

TTZH and CETR contributed with two technical presentations.

1. On Technological Heredity of Some PVD Coated Triboelements, authored by Dr. Alexander Minewitsch, and
2. Effective Testing of Lubricating Oils, authored by Dr. Norm Gitis.

TTZH booth at the accompanying exhibition has been an attractive place for multiple tribology discussions of many professionals dealing with triboanalysis. The picture shows a moment of the meeting between one of the famous German tribologists Prof. Klaus Spiegel from Duesseldorf and Dr. Norm Gitis from Campbell, California. The implementation of UMT techniques for the testing of plain and journal bearings have been one of the important issues of their technical discussion.
